Connect the Dots

During last week's round of golf, Dave found himself walking through some high grass after hitting a wayward shot (add expletive here!). He didn't think much of it until the next day as he began to break out in itchy, raised, red bumps from his legs up.

When it got to the point that he was reaching for a bathroom 'brush' (!!) in the middle of the night to help ease the torment of the itching, he finally decided to go and see the doctor. Her diagnosis: bites. (All those years of medical school put to such good use!) She told him to continue putting the cortisone cream on the bites and prescribed some Benadryl pills to help him at night (I guess that she didn't like the idea of his using the bathroom 'brush' either!)

He took the pill that night, fell into a very deep sleep.... and then found himself in a fog all day long yesterday at work....continuing into last night. He has now decided to cut the pill in half the next time he needs it! The good news was, he was too loopy to think about scratching!

Anyway, when I observed him rubbing the cream all over his body, I suggested that he just put a dab of it on each bump. Looking at the numerous red spots all over his legs and stomach, he laughingly said, "What, and sit here for hours connecting all the dots?" He was right. He was literally covered by red spots.

Maybe he needs to switch his weekly round of golf to a night of bowling for a while....
