"When a baby is born, so is a grandmother."

Adam has promised me more pictures of Owen tomorrow...so I will be posting them as soon as I receive them.

In two days I will get to see him in person and, as you can imagine, I am counting the minutes!

The two of them are getting a chance to get initiated into parenthood these last few days in the hospital. Jenny is getting the knack of nursing, and Adam is learning how to change a diaper! They are both so supportive of each other...it is amazing. Because she had a c-section, they will have to be in the hospital at least one more day...but, I think that they are appreciating the fact that they can always send the baby back into the nursery if they need to. Wait until they get home and reality sets in.....

Jenny was telling me earlier that she was opening her top to get ready to nurse Owen and Adam was holding him to his bare chest (they had read that skin to skin contact was very soothing for the baby!!!)....and, in walked the pediatrician. That must have been interesting!

The good news was that Owen passed his check up with flying colors. The not so good news was that it wasn't their pediatrician....there had been a mixup and a doctor from another group mistakenly checked him out. Their dr. came later. I can only imagine what that first dr. must have thought seeing them both bare-chested!

I have caught up on my sleep now. Last night was pretty much of a fog to me and I fell asleep before nine o'clock. I'm just too old for all of this excitement!

More tomorrow.
