More of the Sights and Delights from my Trip

Besides the natural serenity of being in nature, the trip to Sheryl's lake house was enhanced by the charm found inside her home.

She has an array of fabulous collections all over her place. It seemed as if I discovered something new each day. Everywhere you looked there were messages like the "Simplify" pillow shown above or the "Cherish Each Day" pillow on my bed upstairs. These were constant reminders that this was the place to slow down, breathe deeply and relax.

There was a grouping of antique tin thermometers hanging on the wall as we entered the house...as well as a wonderful collection of walking sticks in the corner of the great room. Sheryl's art that was scattered about was unique...most of it "folk art" that she has been collecting through the years.

And then there was the hand-painted armoire in her bedroom that had fishing rods for "knobs"...it was even featured in a magazine...what an amazing piece of furniture.

With camera in hand, I caught some interesting sights when we ventured to downtown Clayton, where I enjoyed browsing in the old-time hardware store for treasures...as well as sipping a freshly-squeezed orangeade in the local drugstore while Sherri enjoyed her fresh-squeezed lemonade.

Some of the pictures that I captured are below.

Thanks for letting me share another glorious trip with you...enjoy!
