As I am sitting here typing this blog today, Gizmo is standing up on her back legs with her arms perched on my office chair looking up at me. Every once in a while she taps me with her paw as if to say, "Hey, I need a some attention here, too!". So, I give her a little scratch between her ears (her favorite spot) and she begins to softly purr. Within a few seconds, she returns for more.

Eventually she will jump up on my lap (if she is in the mood!) where she will sit for a while riveted as she watches my fingers tapping away on the keys. She then gets almost mesmerized by the small movements on the screen as she turns her head from side to side and up and down. This holds her attention for a while but as soon as she becomes bored with this activity, she will bolt off to look for other, more entertaining, 'adventures'.

Being a cat owner and lover, I always try to make sure that Gizmo has soft, comfortable places to rest. She has a furry purple throw that is placed on the bench at the foot of my bed that has become one of her favorite spots. I can usually find her there unless she has found a little slice of sunshine somewhere else in the house that is perfect for her many naps.

But, what really gets me is that with all of the cushy places for her to lay her head, she also finds great comfort in jumping into this hard, cardboard box that is sitting on my office floor and snoozing there...

If you are "owned by a cat", you will understand.... : )
