Monday, Monday...

Well, Paris is back in jail for now. Those ugly (but comfortable!) Crocs are the number one shoe in the nation. After 85 episodes,the Sopranos has finally ended. and...a dozen people on a roller coaster in Arkansas were left hanging upside down for a half an hour when the power went off! (yikes)

And, so the week starts...

In the meantime, I am packing again as I will be leaving for the beach on Thursday.

A good friend (and golfing buddy) of Dave's is getting married down on the Coast and we will be there for it all. The wedding is taking place outside of the Florabama...an old landmark that sits right on the Florida/Alabama state line. It is a dive of a place...but filled with lots of memories and fun.

Unfortunately, it did not fare well when Hurricane Ivan struck years ago...but, it has been rebuilt very close to the original structure.

The Florabama is well known for many of its events such as the Famous Mullet Toss. Here is everything that you ever wanted to know about a Mullet Toss but were afraid to ask:

WHAT IS A MULLET?

A mullet is one of the more popular and plentiful fish indigenous to this area. It is the only fish with a gizzard and is said to possess mystical properties.

WHAT IS A MULLET TOSS?

A Mullet Toss consists of individuals on the beach throwing a mullet, from a 10-foot circle in Alabama across the state line into Florida. Not to mention a great excuse to throw a weekend long party, with lots of fun activities, great music and food!

WHY TOSS A MULLET?

A contribution for each fish flung will go to Local Youth Charities.Each year, with your help, we raise and contribute over $20,000 to our local charities, especially youth organizations.

ARE THE MULLET ALIVE?

No

WHAT HAPPENS TO MULLET AFTER THE MULLET TOSS?

We feed them to the birds.

Several Thousand

WHAT ARE THE RULES FOR TOSSING A MULLET?

Will be tossing a mullet (approximately 1 lb.) across the Florida/ Alabama state line.
