Long underwear, scarves and gloves

I live in the Deep South....so, why am I buying long underwear, scarves, and gloves right now?

I went to Target (my favorite place!) to see what they had on sale that would keep me warm as I prepare to head to chilly frigid Minneapolis next week!!

I leave on Wednesday to see my son and his wife and.....OWEN!!!!!

The headlines should read: "Grammie braves the cold to see grandson!!" or more appropriate: "Grammie heads to Minnesota....Is she nuts??"!

Luckily, the winter wear at Target was drastically reduced and I was able to purchase several items all for under $10 total. I guess that there isn't really much need for long underwear here in Alabama!

I looked at the long term forecast for Minneapolis on weather.com and here is how it looks:

Wed Jan 23 Partly Cloudy 2°/-8°

Thu Jan 24 Mostly Sunny 15°/5°

Fri Jan 25 Snow Shower 23°/20°

Sat Jan 26 Partly Cloudy 29°/7°

Sun Jan 27 Mostly Cloudy 28°/20°

Mon Jan 28 AM Clouds / PM sun 30°/14°

Tue Jan 29 Cloudy 26°/3°

Wed Jan 30 (when I arrive!) Partly Cloudy 13°/5°

Thu Jan 31 Snow Shower!!!(I wanted snow....and it looks like I may get some! Moral: Be careful what you ask for!) 23°/11°

BRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrr! : 0

That's interesting. I bought a few things at Target and at Beall's for my trip to Virginia. It won't be as cold there, but certainly colder than I'm accustomed to.

I called my friend Peg in the Chicago area to see how she was doing with the cold. She said it was warm there compared to last weekend when she was in some meetings in Minnesota.

Have a wonderful time. I know that goes without saying. I can hardly wait to see Ella again too. I'm driving up to Virginia after our Sweet Adelines show is over Feb. 2.

Grammie,
Enjoy your visit!!! I know you will. Owen is so fortunate to have such a loving Grandmother!
We took Caroline ice skating in Boone on Monday and she loved it. Of course, so did we.. What an absolute delight these wonderful children are. I am so thankful as I know you are.
Have a safe trip!
