Here is the toilet, er, commode that has been squishing and leaking. The plumber and his partner returned this morning to replace the wax ring (again!).
Before lifting the commode off of the floor, he decided that the two bolts on either side of it may not have been tightened enough. So, he got hs wrench and began to tighten. (Isn't this riveting??)
"Ah, that should get it..." he said.
We did the "squish test" and checked for leaks...both checks passed the test.
However, he wasn't satisfied to just leave until he flushed it several times...and put some weight on it.
Now, he sensed that a little more water was beginning to creep out from underneath....so, he began to tighten the bolts just a wee bit more...
BAD IDEA.
Suddenly, we heard an ominous "crack" (!)..... and this was the result...
