The plan was for each couple to bring a dish over...so that everyone was chipping in during these financially challenging times...

For hors d'eurves I filled brown paper lunch bags with roasted peanuts in the shell and freshly made popcorn. I crinkled the tops of the bags to form a hand made bowl of sorts. Someone else brought wonderful home-made mini-pizzas and then, another couple 'splurged' on some cold shrimp and cocktail sauce.

The food was delicious...especially Dave's (now) famous ribs! I made a bean casserole that simmered all day along with some bar-b-qued chicken wings. Of course, we had waaay too much food...but, that's all part of giving a party. The other couples brought the rest of the meal including sliced beef brisket, cornbread pudding, stringbean casserole, chinese slaw, veggie couscous surrounded by corn on the cob...and, then for dessert.....................
