I'll get you for this, Paula Deen!

Yes, she looks very sweet and innocent as she beckons you with her famous fried chicken.....but, watch out....the Paula Deen Buffet at Harrah's Casino is out to get you!  Dave and I ran over to Tunica (4 + hours away)  this past weekend for two days and found ourselves salivating over this buffet.

Picture rows and rows of delectably enticing foods.  You have your choice of: salads, fruit, fried fish, grilled oysters, fried shrimp (to die for!), fried okra, corn bread, seafood gumbo, chicken noodle soup,  ribs, pork bar-b-que, steamed corn on the cob~  potatoes~and shrimp, slaw, potato salad, corn pudding, fried chicken strips, steamed crab legs,  every vegetable casserole imaginable, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

Add to this.....a bell that rings every so often as the soft, warm, freshly baked cheese biscuits (I swear... these are so light that you have to hold them down so that they don't float off of your plate!) and hoecakes are out of the oven....a cheer goes up from the patrons....and, before you can say "yum", a woman comes around to your table with a basketful of these delicious goodies. OMG.

As if this all hasn't done enough damage to your diet (puleeeze!).....there is a mouth-watering dessert area that is just waiting for you to fill your plate with these homemade sweets.  Where can I start?  There is every cake (coconut and carrot were my two favorites) and pie imaginable, cookies, ice cream with toppings, sweet breads, brownies, lemon squares, cobbler, bread pudding, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

All I can say (with a contented groan) is..............................................."Mmmmm, that was good!"

I'll get you for this, Paula!

(But, in the meantime, "thanks"!)

Casinos are our favorite eating establishments. They really go the distance to get you there and keep you there stuffed and intoxicated and gambling in a blur.
