Hearts...

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen nor touched. They must be felt within the heart." Helen Keller

For as long as I can remember, I have always had this thing about hearts. This simplistic shape conjures up all kinds of happy images in my mind and makes me feel good.

My house is filled with "heart" art work. I look for hearts in nature when I take my morning walk. I don't consider my walk complete until I spot a heart. It is amazing how a simple leaf can be shaped like a heart...even an early morning shadow...a bend in a tree limb...a stain on the concrete.

I carry my love of hearts into my work. Every piece of my pottery has a heart on it somewhere...and that has become my trademark. Even as I sign my clay, there is always a heart under my signature. To me it signifies that I have put much love into the piece's creation. I can only hope that the recipient feels it too...

"Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely." The Land Before Time

Thank you for the heart blog. You know, we need to take care of our heart, because we will have it as long as we live! And....As the arteries grow hard....the heart grows soft!!!!
