The Best Age-Defying Beauty Tip Ever

smile*

*Unfortunately, you can't cheat. Simply lifting the corners of your mouth will not take years off your face. Only sincere smiles, complete with crinkling eyes, trigger waves of activity in the left prefrontal lobe of your brain where happiness resides.

Today's blog was brought to you by the book, The Art of Growing Up by Veronique Vienne

I believe this second hand story to be true. While I certainly do believe that a smile makes a person more attractive, repeated movement of any muscle or set of muscles in the face will eventually create lines and furrows, especially as the skin (considered an organ of the body!) ages.

Anyway, the story, from a radio doctor, Dr. Dean... He said that he has a friend who as a result of a motorcycle accident as a youth had one side of his face paralyzed. When seen in profile from the paralyzed side, the friend, now in his 50s, looks to be in his late teens. The other profile, on whose side the muscles all work, the friend looks his age, meaning there are lines, creases and furrows.

The moral? To REALLY stay young looking never show any emotion.

Interesting, as usual, Bert. : )

You always have such a unique slant on things....that must be why I enjoy your blog so much...

That, and the fact that you are a little crazy!

"Crazy" is, to me, too harsh a term for explaining my state in life. I prefer the term, "loopy."

As in Guadaloopy, a wonderful Virgin, if you're among the majority of Illegal Aliens.

Thank you and good night.
