As I walked in my neighborhood this morning I saw a big dog "walking" his little boy.
No, that's not a typo....this oversized dog was on a leash as his pint-sized owner took him out for a walk. The dog was literally pulling the giggling kid down the street.
Seeing what was going on, I suggested that he go and put on some roller skates and at least enjoy the ride! He just giggled some more and allowed himself to be dragged down the street...
The other good news this morning was that we had some rain last night! You could almost hear the lawns and shrubs sighing with relief as they were given a temporary respite from the intense heat and drought. Maybe the praying is bringing results...
I have to laugh at myself each morning when I try to ease my way out of bed without disturbing my sleeping cat. She always ends up right beside me in the morning...all snuggly and content...so, when I get up, I will totally contort my body in ways that I never thought that it could go... and climb out of the bed as carefully as I can so as not to awaken her. After going through all of this and finally successfully getting off of the bed without disturbing her...I turn around and the cat is happily jaunting off of the bed. It is almost as though she enjoys watching this daily ritual but when the "show" is over she heads out for some other, more entertaining, morning adventures. Oh, the things we do for our cats!
I couldn't help but notice all of the flags that have been put out as we approach Independence Day tomorrow. It always gives me a good feeling inside to see this display. With all of the terror going on in the world today, it is still good to be reminded of this wonderful freedom-loving country of ours.
Have a happy and safe Fourth of July everyone!
