Why is this man up in my tree?

OK,  I decided that having my house torn up wasn't enough stress for me soooooo, I had some dead trees cut down yesterday, too.  Any of you who have had this done know that it does not come cheaply....nor quietly.  Of course, during the cutting, they pointed out a huge tree in my back that was leaning precariously towards my upstairs bedroom.  After some bartering back and forth I made the decision to go ahead and let them take down this ginormous tree that was threatening to some day come crashing down on my house (!). After all, they reminded me, spring is coming and that means high winds and strong storms.

I believe that the tree cutters caught me at my most vulnerable state of mind.

Whatever they did, it worked and I am now forking out more $$$ for another tree removal.

Are we having fun yet?

I do not want to know what you credit card bill will look like this next month! We live fairly rural so our tree removal is cheaper than it was in the city.

We are not allowed to remove our tree from the backyard of our house in the city. Our house in town has a 100 year old pecan tree in the yard and the city has passed a new ordinance that forbids the removal of healthy trees over age 100. The excess limbs fall in every storm and one large branch already crashed into a neighbor's roof. That was a friendly exchange...NOT. We don't want to remove healthy trees from around our country home but dead trees are easily and cheaply removed by Ron knocking them down, dragging them into a pile and burning them. Yes, we have priced tree removal in town and it is UNBELIEVABLE!

Just out of curiosity what made you decide to do this on top of everything else going on? Are you a masochist?

In my part of the world, March came in like a lamb, but yesterday it showed its leonine nature. The wind was terrible. If it was like that at your house, you were probably feeling very good that the trees were down.

Thanks for the laugh,Annie. : )
No, I am not a masochist....just can't take any chances that I will have any more damage done to my house in the coming years. I saw removing the dead trees as an insurance policy.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, I still have tons of trees around my house....but, they are all alive and well and not an immediate threat to the house.
