odds and ends....

I'm pooped.

Today was a full day of running errands.

First stop...the eye doctor to try another pair of contact lens. They are trying to switch me from the two week lens to one a day lens that you throw out at the end of the day. It's pretty amazing when I think back to my first contact lens a thousand years ago...they were very hard plastic that you had to almost 'pop' out of your eye to remove them...and, then you had to sterilize them overnight in a little heating thingamajig. We've come a long way...

I was shocked when I filled up my car with gas today...$2.16....wow! That was a pleasant surprise...I hope that the lower prices last for a while.

When I brought in the newspaper this morning, I began to think about how archaic it is becoming. Much of the printed news in the morning has already been online the night before or very early that day.

But, then there is always the comics page.... : )

OK. I am admitting that I have absolutely NO willpower when it comes to chocolate. I gave Dave a bunch of my leftover Halloween candy...but, I still had a bagful here at my house. It was full of M & M's, Hershey crackle bars, Three Musketeers, etc...Because they were all little, teeny tiny packages (ha!), I figured that I could handle having it around without upping my caloric intake too much.

Wrong.

I found myself eating those teeny, tiny packages all day long...it was crazy!

Yesterday, I threw all the rest of the chocolate out in the garbage.

Yes, believe me....I did think about retrieving them...but pushed the bag down deeper into the garbage pail instead.

Phew.

My dear neighbor, Bob, brought over some fresh tomatoes the other day. I am thinking that I need to use them before they go bad....maybe I will make a little sauce with them and put it over some spaghetti. Sounds good to me... I'm going to go and get started.

Have a nice evening!

xoxo

I don't want to get your hopes up Grammie, but we paid $1.85 for gasoline yesterday. WhooHoo!
