As I slept fitfully last night, I listened to the much needed torrential rain that was falling outside.
My mind was going in a million different directions and I couldn't seem to get it to slow down. Gizmo must have felt my agitation as she was bounding up and down the hallway to my bedroom meowing at the top of her lungs.
Could some of my angst be due to the fact that I had just made my airplane reservations for Minnesota (and Buddha!!) amidst rising terrorist threat levels at all airports? Or, was it just excitement knowing that sometime in the next few weeks I will be in a position to be falling in love with a brand new family member? Or was it....?
I awoke with this feeling that tears could come at any moment for no special reason at all. The "Pipster" was in an unexplainable funk.
As the rain outside was slowly replaced with a bit of sunshine, I put my walking shoes on and headed out. Unfortunately, the first thing that I saw was my totally saturated newspaper. The rain had leaked into the plastic bag and it was now a soggy mess.
As I continued walking, I realized that my head was clearing a bit and some of my irrational feelings were drifting away. Suddenly, I spotted a leaf that had fallen on the wet street. It was an almost perfect heart. I had my cell phone with me on the walk so I snapped a picture...
As I made my way back home, I had a smile on my face...as I was now ready to take on the rest of the day.

I have those nights and mornings too grammie. I just don't have a camera! As I told my brother yesterday, I do not want anymore gadgets than necessary as I auto assume they will be as aggravating as my only addon is my printer. Although your camera is on your phone, the idea of a digital has crossed my mind. Just maybe since my brother mentioned his "old" camera in the process of telling me he had a scanner I could have, that just maybe he will give me the camera too. He got me a cell phone at the same time he got his new wife one, for what need I have for it, is still yet to be determined. I dislike all phones!
I had to answer phones my entire years of working and I still can't like them.
Thanks for the walk and the heart. Brightens my day!
God Bless
